Dream Energy Ardent inaugurates Belgium’s first fast-charging station

As announced when their joint venture was created at the end of 2023, Ardent Invest and Dream Energy are now rolling out their network of ultra-fast charging stations. On Thursday May 15, in the presence of Benoit Closson, Mayor of Wellin, Dream Energy Ardent inaugurated its very first station in Belgium, strategically located in Wellin, marking a key step in the development of electromobility in Wallonia.

Located in Wellin, in the parking lot of one of Ardent Invest’s commercial real estate sites, this 24/7 charging station comprises four charging points with a capacity of up to 150 kW. The site is home to an Action store and a Carrefour Market, offering customers a convenient recharging solution.

Strategically located just a few kilometers from the E411 freeway. Located halfway between the Netherlands and the south of France, it represents an ideal solution for Dutch and Belgian travellers and holidaymakers visiting southern Europe.

Thanks to their integrated model, combining renewable energy production and the operation of charging stations on real estate they own, Dream Energy and Ardent Invest ensure competitive prices and optimum availability of green electricity.

Committed to more sustainable mobility, Dream Energy Ardent powers its stations with 100% renewable electricity generated by hydroelectric dams in France. This initiative is part of a wider ambition to reduce carbon footprints and offer road users a reliable energy alternative.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer Belgian and visiting electromobilists an even more comprehensive range of recharging options, and to enable them to take advantage of nearby services while their vehicle is recharging. As a producer-supplier and recharging operator, we are able to offer an attractive and sustainable recharging price”, Philippe Baudry, CEO of Dream Energy.

“At Ardent Invest, we have always been committed to developing high-performance real estate projects that are tailored to the needs of their occupants. The integration of ultra-fast recharging stations is part of this approach: rather than simply meshing a territory, we enhance the value of our sites by providing solutions that improve their attractiveness and energy performance. What’s more, offering users fast, accessible recharging where they need it is a concrete way of meeting the new challenges of mobility,” emphasizes Nicolas Léonard, CEO of Ardent Invest.

This project is just the first step in the development of the Dream Energy Ardent network in Belgium, which will be gradually rolled out across Wallonia at carefully selected sites.

12 new stations will soon be set up on several of Ardent Invest’s commercial sites, as well as those of WEB, whose partnership was formalized in July 2024.
